Hello! My name is Shira Pearson and I am Village Brewery’s Manager of First Impressions. Which is a big name to live up to - is it my fault if someone has a bad impression?

Neil is a corporate, editorial and art photographer in Calgary, focusing on capturing the 'best sides' of everything he points his camera at.

Village is 5 years old, and Village Radio is back!

Turning five in a business usually means you’ve made it through those tough start up years and are now in to your adolescent years of making your ‘today’ self better than your ‘wild and crazy’ beginner self.

'Tis the season for Christmas movies! And we've teamed up with It's Date Night to bring some "Not so Christmas, Christmas movies" to the Taproom. Join us on the dates above for movies, pints and popcorn. Each movie will have a special cask pairing!

“That must be a fun job”  It is, it really is. Though, it is nothing like what you think it is….well, maybe a little.  I think 17 year old Jeremy would have been rather surprised if you told him he would be doing quality control for a microbrewery. After 6 or so years in the industry the job opened up at Village for a Quality Control Manager and as a brewer with a science degree, I had to jump at the opportunity. So the question is: what exactly do you do for quality control at a brewery that isn’t Budweiser? In other words we don’t have a giant lab with every fancy toy, though we have a very good foundation for that.

Neil Zeller has been a wonderful friend of Village Brewery since the beginning. He was one of the first artists to contribute his photography for use on our variety pack in 2012. He's someone who's been around for the entire brewery ride and building his business as we were. What better artist to have showcasing their artwork while we celebrate our 5th anniversary on December 21st. 

The time has finally come! Villagers can now enjoy a pint, flight, tour or growler fill at the brewery with our new extended hours. We are excited to share our space with friends and community members alike.

There are so many conversations and stories taking place in our great city. We figure it’s time that we start capturing these stories and stick them in the story cooler so our community can be refreshed and inspired whenever they thirst for creativity. 

This season we have an uncommon offering to share. Brewmaster Larry has made a recipe that he has fantasized about throughout his long brewing career, after 45 years of beer experience, we are launching one of his last beers..

It was love at first sip. We'd never met a more dazzling, brilliant brew. Our squeeze charmed us with smooth Bavarian malt, teased us with lemon and raspberry, kissed us softly with hops. We told ourselves, this may be too good to last. So for now, just drink it in.
